Rockets destroyed food intended for disabled children and other victims

This night, Russian missiles hit a logistics center in the city of Kiev, where not only products from the NOVUS retail chain were stored, but also humanitarian food supplies from the Food for Ukraine Foundation. The foundation’s warehouse was part of this logistics center. Today, it no longer exists.
It is comforting that human casualties were avoided. During the airstrike, employees were in hiding. Just the day before, some of the products were collected by our volunteer partners for further distribution, while the rest was scheduled to be delivered today. Unfortunately, this did not happen – the cereals, pasta, rice and other food products burned. The losses are still being assessed, but they are significant. The most terrible thing is that this is an attempt to harm the poorest people who have already experienced a lot of suffering: disabled elderly people and children, refugees from war zones, orphaned children, or large families.
The war has been going on for more than four years, but hope and humanity are stronger than evil: buildings can be destroyed, warehouses destroyed, supplies burned. But it is impossible to destroy the sacrifice and kindness of people.
We thank all the rescuers who are currently working at the scene of the disaster, our partners from NOVUS for their professionalism, and all the volunteers and supporters of the foundation who help to continue the miracles of kindness every day.
We are already looking for solutions to restore the supply of humanitarian aid as soon as possible. Because behind every lost food package there is a person waiting for it.
