Mariupol. Children. Drama Theatre. Bombs.

From the very first days of the war, Mariupol has experienced the horrors of war. More than 20,000 of its residents have found refuge in Kiev. Here they are forming a new community – united by the desire to help each other, to share.
This time, the children had the opportunity to play in the children’s room, while their parents wove camouflage netting and later took food rations. Gradually, the children are learning to be happy again. More and more bright colors appear in their drawings. However, moments of separation are still often drawn – a mother hugs a father in a military uniform, who is leaving by train to the front.
Talking about the beginning of the war is still extremely difficult for children and their mothers. Most do not want to remember. Some families also survived the tragic bombing of the Mariupol Drama Theatre. Therefore, the mothers ask us not to ask them or their children about what they had to experience. Unfortunately, some children still need specialist help.
We sincerely thank our sponsors – Maxima and Kauno Grūdas – for making this Easter table for Mariupol families richer and warmer. There are not enough words of gratitude that could convey all the feelings they feel and want to express to their benefactors.
